Knichel Logistics Gives Back

Knichel Logistics is committed to giving back to the community. Below are just a few of the great organizations that we are proud to support:

Positive Athlete

Positive Athlete is a group of high-character professional athletes teamed up to promote the benefits of “positivity” to young athletes around the world. These athletes believe it is crucial to begin shaping the futures of young athletes for life skills beyond athletic competition. Current Positive Athletes of note are Hines Ward, Julie Foudy, Kerri Walsh, Kristine Lilly, and Pablo Sandoval. Positive Athlete is not so much a charity as it is a "movement" to inspire kids to learn that positivity is a life skill they can use whether they go on to be Super Bowl MVP/Dancing with the Stars winner like Hines, or simply a business man or woman.

Seven definitions of a Positive Athlete are an optimistic attitude, an encouraging teammate, a servant leader, a heart for others, admits imperfections, always gives 100%, and puts their team first. Knichel Logistics is proud to sponsor Positive Athlete as it is a wonderful vehicle for promoting great life skills.

Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center

The mission of the Animal Rescue League of Western PA is to provide temporary shelter, food, medical attention, and comfort to all abandoned, neglected and injured animals brought in by the community; to restore lost animals to their owners or seek new homes for them, and to educate the public about humane care of animals with a goal of reducing overpopulation.

In addition to donating to such a great cause, an employee of Knichel Logistics also volunteers at the ARL Wildlife Center on a weekly basis. This is a great organization that really makes a difference by enlightening the public about native Pennsylvania wildlife, as well as aiding animals both domestic and wild.

The Lighthouse Foundation

The Lighthouse Foundation was founded in 1985 by a group of Bakerstown community residents in response to growing needs among local families and communities facing rising employment and emergency needs. Today, The Lighthouse Foundation maintains operations at five sites, annually serves more than 6,000 clients, fills identified gaps in basic human services, is the lone provider of housing to homeless young adults and families in its service region, and operates through the private charitable and public support of more than 1,500 individuals, bodies of faith, agencies, foundations, business and service organizations. Please visit The Lighthouse Foundation website to read more about the wonderful things that they do and to see how you can help too.

As the global leader of the breast cancer awareness movement, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has helped to educate, empower, and save the lives of women all over the world. Events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, which take place year-round globally, have enabled this organization to continue their mission of helping women and their families understand breast cancer, giving them the tools to take preventative action, providing countless resources and support networks for those afflicted, and helping to fund the continued research to find a cure. Team Tyson

Team Tyson is an organization that was formed to assist the family of Tyson Manni, a 4 year old from Toms River New Jersey who is battling Lymphoblastic Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. All donations go to Tyson's family to help assist with his extensive medical treatment and their economic survival during this difficult time. With Tyson receiving treatment multiple times a week at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick, the commute itself has become quite costly for the family, not to mention the significant amount of time away from work and the stress of coping with Tyson's illness on his parents.

Harvest for Hunger

Harvest for Hunger is one of the largest annual, community-wide food and funds drives in the nation. It provides critical resources to local hunger relief organizations in nineteen counties in Northeast and North Central Ohio. This year's campaign is the most important to date, as the downturn in the economy, rising unemployment, and higher food and heating bills are forcing more people to turn to local hot meal programs, food pantries and shelters for assistance. Visit the Harvest for Hunger website to contribute to this great organization.
