Expedited

The Union Pacific Railroad, in a joint venture with Norfolk Southern, offers an expedited service called Blue Streak® Intermodal Service in select lanes serviced by the UP and NS lines.

Expedited and Premium Shipments

As a participating IMC, Knichel Logistics is proud to offer its customers this exclusive service. There are three tiers of service that Blue Streak® offers:

SuperFlyer

The highest level of expedited service, competitive in both price and transit time to regular over the road truckload service. You will receive truck-like service for less money – with transit times of 500+ miles per day in comparison to typical truckload service. View Our On-time Percentage Charts

Service guarantee offered in select lanes between Southern CA and the Southeast – if the railroad misses reschedule, the rail line haul will be free.
Thoroughly inspected EMP equipment, along with gate reservation via REZ-1.
Proactive service monitoring throughout transit. If there is a delay issue with your freight, you will be kept informed of its status.
Super premium cutoff time and availability.
Reserved priority access on a premium train.
Your shipment receives priority treatment and will have a protected departure time, a reserved spot on the train, and will be the first shipment unloaded from the train at destination.

Expedited Plus

The second highest level offered in the expedited service. While transit times are slightly longer than with the SuperFlyer service, the Expedited Plus still offers just less than 500 miles per day.

Thoroughly inspected EMP equipment, along with gate reservation via REZ-1.
Proactive service monitoring throughout transit.
Continutally updated information on a shipment status if there is a delay issue with your freight.
Super premium cutoff time and availability.
Reserved priority access on a premium train.
Your shipment receives priority treatment and will have a protected departure time, a reserved spot on the train, and will be the first shipment unloaded from the train at destination.

Expedited

Service guarantee offered in select lanes between Southern CA and the Southeast – if the railroad misses schedule, the rail line haul will be adjusted from Expedited to FAK rate level.
An improved schedule with more favorable cutoff and availability times.
Proactive service monitoring throughout transit. If there is a delay issue with your freight, you will be kept informed of its status.
Reserved priority access on a premium train.
"High security” seals that are applied at San Diego to Global I and Atlanta free of charge.
Blue Streak® is a winning option for customers accustomed to over the road services.

Pacer Expedited and PacerDirect Expedited

Pacer Stacktrain also offers a TOFC service in select lanes utilizing their own 53’ 110” containers and chassis. Pacer’s containers move on the BNSF’s priority train, and in some lanes offer truck-like services. Pacer Expedited is a ramp-to-ramp wholesale service, while PacerDirect Expedited is a door-to-door wholesale service. Both are high-speed, reliable services that are a competitive alternative to traditional truckload services. (For example, if a shipment moved via Pacer Expedited from Chicago to Los Angeles, the container would arrive at the LA rail ramp on the 3rd night.)
